A little bit about myself
I am Neil Griffiths and working with trees is my passion.
In our modern world, man and trees often have to share the same space. This creates the need to manage trees – keeping them healthy to minimise the associated risks to our property and to us.
I believe that the correct management of trees not only reduces risks but also keeps trees in good health, which in turn is good for our health. Many different forms of life depend on our trees – birds, insects, lichens and fungi to name a few.
I think the first tree I pruned was back in 1985 when my grandad asked me to help him in his garden… and yes, it did involve balancing on the roof of his shed!
For some time after that I dealt with trees on and off, mainly informally, as life took me away to other professional directions.
In 2006 I decided to focus on working with trees. I became a qualified tree surgeon as soon as I had gained all the appropriate NPTC and Lantra qualifications. In this capacity, I worked for different tree surgery companies – both in the commercial and domestic sectors – in the Midlands, South East London and Hastings.
After over a decade of working with other tree surgery companies, I decided I was ready to start my own business and promote my own working approach, which is one of being polite, careful and reliable.
At the same time, I believe that it is important to provide clients with professional advice that enables them to make the most of their trees and hedges.
